How can I ask Whatsapp to review our template category?

Here’s how to request a review if your approved template was marked as Marketing, but you believe it should be classified as Utility per WhatsApp’s guidelines.

  1.  Open WhatsApp Manager
    1. Head to your Meta Business Settings.
    2. Select WhatsApp Manager from your dashboard.
    3. In the menu on the left, click “Message Templates” to view your templates. 
  2. Navigate to Category Review
    1. Go to the Business Support Home page.
    2. Choose “Template Category Updates. 
  3. Request a Category Review
    1. Find the template you’d like reviewed.
    2. Click the template name to open its details.
    3. Select “Request Review.”
      Meta will reassess your template following their latest documentation and category standards.
    4. You can monitor the appeal status in Business Support Home, under these labels:
      1. In Review: Your request is being processed.
      2. Reversed: Your appeal was successful, and the category was updated.
      3. Unchanged: No changes were made after review.
  4. Important to Remember: Category updates apply only to approved templates that may have been miscategorized. Meta might reclassify templates automatically at any time if they don’t meet current category standards, even after approval.
